This was something I've always wanted to do. I did a solid, liquid, gas unit in my science class last month and what better experiment to do than the mentos/diet coke one? I was quite impressed with the height of this diet coke fountain as you can see, so I thought I'd share.

wow never knew that could happen... are you teaching science or taking classes??
That is an AWESOME mentos geyser. When I did solids and liquids with my kids we used these Insta-Worms that I found on this great science website. (http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/product/1500) You make up this water and powder solution and then you squirt this worm goo into the solution and BAM two liquids become a solid in the shape of a worm! At first they are still liquid on the inside and then they become a solid. We had hours of fun with this! I thought your kids might enjoy it too.
