Christmas Eve 2008

We had so much fun this Christmas with all our family around. Christmas Eve we went to Lee's parent's house and had a wonderful meal and good times! We played this circa 1980's hunting/fishing board game...guess who won that one?? Of course the boys did...but not by much! Hunter and his girlfriend Gracie made Santa some very YUMMY cookies. And we all had fun playing wii with Mena, PaPa, and Uncle Ryan.

Mena with a STRIKE

I bet Santa's going to eat those cookies right up

Check out the use of sprinkles on those bad boys

Dry Ice

My Dad and Jeannie came down for Christmas this year and brought with them deer meet from an axis deer lee got earlier this month. They packed it in dry ice and Hunter got a kick out of all the smoke.

noing, Daddy! noing, Daddy!

Hunter's reaction to the snow. He was excited at first, but it quickly turned to "Cold mama. Shaking mama" "Inside, pweese, mama"

While inside though, Hunter figured out how to make his own snow. For those of you who don't know, I can't stand to touch Styrofoam. It makes me cringe, It makes possibly the worst sound ever. As a friend of mine said just yesterday at school to a group of my kids, "Mrs. Gena is afraid of Styrofoam." Yes, Mrs. Gena is afraid, very afraid! So, well, anyway...guess what Hunter's snow is made out of??? YUP...that stuff! And guess who got to clean it all up??? ME!

We enjoyed a family night of popcorn and hot chocolate too

After Hunter went to bed, we looked outside to find this! How cool is this??? This makes for the third time I've ever seen snow in my life!!!

Lee and I even made our own little Frosty

San Antonio Visit

We had such a good time in San Antonio this past weekend visiting Mena, PaPa, and Ryan. It was so good to finally get to see them again! We also got to spend some time with my Mimi and Aunt Ann, and cousin Nick, and my sister Beth. Saturday Mena, Hunter, and I headed out to the botanical gardens to see the tree house exhibit. Hunter had a great time! I think his favorite part was throwing the Christmas ornaments into the water. He got 'bit' by a crazy duck, which is kinda funny now. :) Sunday we got to go spend some time with Mimi, Aunt Ann, Nick, and my sister. We had a little Christmas and Hunter got a really cool worm (as he calls it) It quickly turned into a jump rope. We got to eat "The Cake" which my aunt made and it was SO GOOD! Lee, Hunter and I headed off to my favorite park...MacArthur Park. Lots of memories there for me! Lee, Ryan, and my dad went to the SAEC annual game dinner on Monday night and I'm sure had a great time even though nothing was won in the raffle :( Maybe next year!

Tree house made of whirligigs. Isn't that a fun word to say???

Choo-Choo

See the nice ducks...
"feed ducks, mommy?"

Thanksgiving Holiday Recap

HAPPY TURKEY DAY!
They made these shirts at school

Hunter and I enjoyed our Wednesday off from school and played at the park for a long time. We came home and I made Mom's cinnamon rolls...because you can't have a holiday without them!

Friday we decorated for Christmas! Hunter had a great time with the tree and even put the star on top...which he is very proud of

We had a fun time on Saturday playing in the backyard while Lee worked (very, very, very) hard on the patio.

Saturday night we watched Hunter's Cismas mooie, which is all he asks to watch now...hey, at least we get a break from the genie mooie!
